Fairlight | No Aux or Master Tracks

PostWed Feb 24, 2021 8:07 pm

In the latest beta version there are no Aux or Master tracks available in Fairlight. In the Bus Assign window, the only available option are busses.

Running on Windows 10.

In version 17, by default new Projects use Flexi Bus mode and Busses are named Bus 1, Bus 2, etc.

Fixed Bus Projects behave like Resolve 16 and prior versions and will feature Main Busses, Sub Busses, and Auxes in the Bus Format window.

Prior to creating a new Timeline in a new Project, the following preference may be enabled:
Project Preferences > Fairlight > Audio Busing Mode > Use Fixed Bus Mapping

More details in the DaVinci Resolve New Features Guide installed within Resolve 17's application folder or accessible via Resolve's Help menu.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried that and set up a new project with the Fixed Bus Mapping.
As you'll see in the attached image there are still no options for adding AUX or MASTER tracks.

I'm not an audio pro, but it's my impression that the new busses can be so flexibly wired that you have all of the functionality of Auxes and Masters, and more. I thought that the legacy mode was more for comfort and using presets than for actual functionality. Just mentioning it in case you didn't know and it's helpful.

And I could be wrong. Maybe there's no way to have multiple Master functionality in the new system, for example. (I've never done multiple Masters myself and so I'm just throwing the thought out there.)

Craig, your pic shows a project with Flexibus routing. If it was fixed bus the main output would be labeled as Main and not Bus 1. Here's one I just created.
Resolve Studio 19.1.3 build 7
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.
