Export / Render issues file won't play and too small

PostWed Feb 24, 2021 10:25 pm

I am new to resolve but I have had some successes with it but it seems very hit or miss. My source files are 4k 10bit pro res 422 LT recorded with Atomos Ninja V. They play fine in resolve and after a quick color grade I try to export. Those settings regardless of what I choose renders a video that is 40 kb in size and will not play back. I am trying to export as h264 mp4 or quicktime. Have also tried standard youtube settings. I do not get any errors in resolve when exporting. Any help would be appreciated. The same file works fine in premiere pro.

That seems really weird. Can you check the file with MediaInfo?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Can you try a quick export from the edit page?

If looks like a single frame was exported

I am running into the same issue. New install of DR17, first video created and when I go to render I experience the same behavior. The render completes in 1 second and the file is a very small size (539k). If you click on the .mp4 file to play it, you only see a single still image. No errors are raised during the 1 second render. Any other ideas or help would be appreciated?

Also, if I go to the Edit page and do a File | Quick Export... it has a duration of only 1s. The same time it took to render. I have attached an image below. Exporting it generates a file with the same issue. Any other ideas?

Any updates on this issue? I need to resolve this so I can render the video.

Version 17 added a new feature, Geoff. The In/Out points we set on one page carry over to the others.

Make sure to clear those on the Deliver page if you don't want them.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thanks, that was it! I didn't realize the IN/OUT points only had one frame selected. It was working as expected. After selecting the entire timeline, it rendered perfectly. I also want to thank Adam from support who did an excellent job helping me realize this. Thanks again!
