Updating Resolve [16-17] Database

I've been using Resolve 16 and was prompted to download and update to 17 after a system reboot.
There was NO suggestion (nor opportunity) to back up the database. Doh!
After downloading and installing Resolve 17 I restarted the Windows 10 desktop and attempted to resume the work that I'd been doing on a project.
Problem: All the projects that I'd worked on (including the one that I was in the middle of) have VANISHED into thin air! Ohhh boy! :/
The only option that I seem to have is to 'Upgrade Database' and I'm somewhat concerned that by doing so I may lose ALL my work.
For that matter, I have no idea where all my work has gone!
Some urgent assistance with this would be more than appreciated.
Thanks in advance, peeps!
HELP! :)

If you have not upgraded the DB, un install v17 and put v16 back in.
then check all is fine, export the v16 DB.
then restore the exported DB.
check thats fine.
now upgrade to v17, and then upgrade the restored 16 DB, not the original which you will keep always at v16.

I went ahead without uninstalling and it seemed to work just fine. Nothing lost.
I HIGHLY suggest that there's a step in the upgrade that indicates that a backup should be done before proceeding. <----- note to development management.
Thanks for your reply.
