17.0 Dongle not working

Hello, I just update to 17.0 and my dongle is not working. I downgrade to 17.1B9 and works fine.
I'm on Mac M1. I don't know if you will release another version or is just a problem.

Please reach out to Blackmagic Design support with your dongle ID, a captured log archive (from the 17.1 B9 help menu) and purchase information.

I can't add attachment files in the contact box where said: "email us". Can you share an email?
My dongle only has a sticker that said Resolve. Where can I find the dongle ID?

With 17.1B9 installed, open a project or start a new project. Select the Resolve Help menu, then select Create Diagnostics Log on Desktop.

Send that log to us here. Do that by putting it on a file sharing site and provide a link to the file here.

New users may not be able to post URLs. If that's a problem for you, put a space near the front of the URL so the system doesn't think its a URL.

I might be wrong, of course, but as far as I know (from various user postings here) the 17.0 betas (compiled for Intel CPUs) do not work with dongles on M1 Macs... I do not think this has changed in the release version.

how can he make a log when the software does not start because of a dongle failure?

@Daniel: That was fixed a few betas ago. Edit: For the 17.1 code. But you are correct that 17.0 code won't work.

But.....rereading this, you can't use the 17.0 release on the M1 Mac.

You still need to use 17.1. 17.1 is still in beta. So you'll need to keep using 17.1b9 until the 17.1 release comes out.

You have the free version of Resolve installed.

If you have a dongle, and you want to use it, you need to download and install a Studio version of Resolve from the Support page DaVinci Resolve area:

Since you are on a Mac, you can just install the Studio version over the free version. You don't need to uninstall anything first.

Hello,

I am reporting the same issues of the dongle not working. Here's what I know:

- Dongle has worked no problems up until about an hour ago
- Now Resolve Studio 17 asks for activation key despite dongle being connected
- Currently, no green light on the dongle
- Device manager is not able to see the dongle (it suggests I need to connect it, despite it being plugged in)
- I have tried all the other ports, same situations.
- All the ports work with other devices, so it's not the port(s).
- I have a bunch of projects to deliver this week.

IF anyone has an idea of how to activate the dongle again and get Windows (11) to see it/recognise it, that would be much appreciated. Terrible timing, I have work to deliver.
