DVR 17 — black screen and freeze — Where is support?

So... What should I do?
I need to work!!! Where I can download 17b9 now? On official page I can't find it anymore, only 17.1 for Mac
Please, help!

Could you please provide some more details and send us the logs?

Please review - viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190

To Capture logs:
On Windows - Run C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\CaptureLogs.bat
On Mac - Run Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\CaptureLogs.app
On linux - Capture it from the Applications menu -> DaVinci Resolve -> DaVinci Resolve Capture Logs

You can upload it on a file sharing website (e.g. dropbox) and send us a link.

my DRV17 also freezes when loading - cut page

PS DR 16 works, DR17 freezes

PSS my problem solved. I deleted c: \ Program Files \ Common Files from faulty plugins ... especially newblue

Could you please provide some more details and send us the logs?

How I can make archive if DVR doesn't start? UPD Sorry, read carefully and find answer to my question.

I have HP Z820 workstation, 2xXeon E5-2687w, 64 RAM, AMD FirePRO W8000
All updates are installed for software and drivers

Sorry, I can't find this path. And I haven't any plugins, but 17 release freeze, 17b9 — work fine

Not a Mac user but on my PC unless I manually delete downloads they will stay in my downloads directory.

Not a Mac user but on my PC unless I manually delete downloads they will stay in my downloads directory.


I'm PC-users too, but I have automatic delete old files in downloads and temp folders

A possible solution is to download DR 16.2.8. Backup your data base somewhere. Load DR17 and then recover data base. I had a problem with one of my PC's running 16.2.8 when I uninstalled and could not get DR17 to work. Re installed 16.2.8 and just let DR17 over write and it now all works. Worth a try but make sure you backup you data base. Maybe to two places !

All the Resolve versions back to 10.1.5 are available on the BMD web site Support area for DaVinci Resolve:

Right now, I would suggest downloading and install Resolve Studio 17.0.

If that still doesn't work, send another log. Also send a Windows System Information .NFO file. Generate that by opening the System Information app and selecting File - Save.

I have all updates. And Windows and drivers and all other software

This is last version drivers from amd.com

Sorry, but I have installed version 17.0.0.39 five times already. Updating the beta version (17b9), uninstalling the beta version and install 17.0.0.39. Rebooting the computer, not rebooting the computer. And the result is always the same - it does not start beyond trying to open the Project Manager
I see a black screen, also I see "not responding" in the Task Manager.

Gentlemen, where is the answer? I bought your product and it no longer works. Why your support isn't answering? Or do you have no support at all? There is no answer in the mail, no answer there. There's no answering what should I do. And time is running out. I can't work.

Why are you ignoring customers? And

17.1b10 just doesn't work the same way. Exactly the same thing happens.

There have been multiple BMD people helping on this thread and a weekend Sun’s ur last logs were posted. I’m sure someone is looking at it.

I send every logs your people asked. I install 17.0.0.39 again (your people advise it to me) and send another log and send .nfo (as your people asked, but nobody downloaded it). I checked every drivers updates (I send your people a picture from video driver).

And I send a mail to support:

Put back 17b9? Because 17.1b10 also doesn't work

Can u try AMD Driver: 16.50.3201
And let us know.
It’s an old driver but might be a temp fix while we investigate more.

Hm... It's driver for gamers (just first time see so many digits in driver's version, all over have 4 digits)? I don't know, try it now

I'm not sure... I found the «Catalyst» driver correctly on the amd site. 16.5.11, 16.50.27 and now here are 17.02.2021 (Catalyst 21.2.3) Catalyst drivers were installed. There is no result — it will hang at the start. 17b9 — works without problem (excluding crashes when trying to change «softness» parameter of any polygons on Fusion Page and falls with «Hover Scrub Preview» over Fusion's Transitions)

I'm sorry, what exactly mean «works for me»?
I changing the drivers line from workstations drivers to Catalyst and it did not help. Three different versions of the Catalyst drivers - without result. Release 17.0 and 17.1b10 didn't start. It freeze on Project Manager.
17b9 - perfectly work with all kinds and versions of drivers. I don't know why. Do I need send to you logs from 17b9?

Please try the 17.1 release. There are fixes in the release version that we think should address this issue.
