Guys from the fist tests i can say that you have finally fixed the issue with Radeon cards.

The projects can be edited instantly after being loaded. Have to edit some more to see if there are still other bugs.

Stabilization still takes a while to work o first use.

System:

5800X
32GB RAM
6800XT Driver : 21.2.3
Windows Insider build 21H1

Thank you BMD team!

A little update.

it seems that on a similar system the issue with waiting for thumbnails to be show is still a thing.

The only difference between me and this friend is the Windows version, he is on the regular one while i'm using the insider Beta 21H1 build.

We have the same driver 21.2.3

The first time it might be slow after you install Resolve and/or a new driver, but on subsequent runs it should be fine.

I can edit my projects the second it finished loading resolve, no more waiting, but my friend still have to wait around 1 minute for it.

He also uses Canon 1DX 4K video files, i'm using Sony A7III 4K video files.

For now i'm pleased on how Resolve 17 turned out to be given that i wasn't able to edit anything with my AMD GPU in the Beta stages. The 1080Ti had no issues.

I'm guessing it needs to recompile all the CL kernels ?
