I'm running studio 17 version. just noticed a version so Ill download and get back with the results.

Just jumping in on this post.
I have Studio 17 and no problems with XAVC. I did however put the free version of 17 on a clients macbook pro and they cannot see it. Here is a screen shot of the files not showing. It seems to only be the XAVC High 4:2:2 L4.1.
Is this a format not allowed by the free version?


Don't know why but the image link doesn't work.

As Dwaine observes, we need a file sample to observe before we can determine if there are differences between the free and Studio version.

Plays fine here in Studio. I'd assume that support for 4:2:2 is in Studio only, even on the Mac.

This file works fine in free Resolve 17.2 on my MacPro 5,1 system running Catalina with an RX580 card.

Was the clients MBP an Intel or Apple Silicon machine?

Did it have the Apple Pro Video Formats 2.2.1 package installed? Maybe that would help.

It's Intel and maybe 2 years old max. I initially asked if she had the pro video formats installed. I sent her the link, fingers crossed.

I think of the internal GPUs only Intel xe and Apple M1 are decoding these in hardware.
