Hi all! This is my first topic creation here so if I messed something up I apologize, I'm not familiar with how forums work.
I'm on a macbook pro
(13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB
I have been editing on Resolve 16 for a while with no problems. Today I turned on the computer and tried to boot up Resolve. The first odd thing I noticed was that the icon was square instead of round (which is really sad, it doesn't look nearly as good). Then when the splash came up I realized it was Resolve 17. I never updated Resolve (I don't even have the admin password for this computer) so I'm primarily baffled as to how this even happened.
Anyway, I got the error saying that resolve couldn't detect a metal capable gpu. So I went into the configs, switched to OpenCL, tried again, got the same error (only with respect to OpenCL). I tried unchecking any box related to GPU usage in the hopes that I'd trip the switch that would let Resolve know I don't have a gpu but no luck.
Is a GPU just blanket required for 17? And how on earth did it auto-update? (And how do I go back without admin priviledges?

)
Thanks!
