Futures betas and locked forum

PostFri Feb 26, 2021 7:14 pm

I just saw that the DaVinci Resolve 17 Beta forum was locked.
It's not that important and I'm sure there are good reasons for that.

I downloaded the 17.1b10, and I don't mind using it with "real" projects (I have my database saved and I like to live dangerously :D ).

But now I don't really see the goal behind the public betas, and I'm curious to know how we should see/use them?

Are they just versions considered as a "technological preview"? Meaning that they are just there for people to play with them, and to see what will be in the final releases.

Or are they still used to get reports for the users? If the latter, what's the proper way now to report a problem?

Can bugs in the final 17.0 be reported in "this" main forum? Or do they have to be send from the support page of the website?

(I ask all of this because I already reported couple of bugs here and I don't know if I did the right thing)

Last point, wouldn't it be better to have a completely separated forum for bugs (betas or not) and leave this one for general questions/discussions??

Thanks

You can use the main DaVinci Resolve forum now for bug reports.
