DVR-Studio 17.1 Beta 10 for Windows?

PostSat Feb 27, 2021 6:20 pm

I am confused I thought resolve 17.1 was for the M1 macs yet my Resolve Studio 17.0 Release Version on Windows thinks 17.1 Beta 10 is an update. Is this correct?

“The 17.1 Windows and Linux installers also available for download.
We look forward to beta feedback on this specific Windows and Linux version.”

Is there any more detail on this cryptic little nugget?

What’s New in DaVinci Resolve 17.1 Beta 10
Support for hardware accelerated encoding and decoding of H.265 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats on supported Intel platforms.

What exactly does "supported intel platforms" mean? Is this something specific to Intel 11th gen or later? 10th gen? Does support include AMD Ryzen? What "support" does it need?

It is confusing, it is Resolve Studio 17 Beta 10 however I have Resolve Studio Released version (not Beta) that was released after Beta 9. Also the 17.1 Beta's are for the M1 Apples but this Beta 10 seems to be for "supported " Intel platforms. No clear list of "supported platforms" was in the post.. Somewhat of an incoherent release.

Resolve Studio17.0 (full release) on Windows said the update was available when I fired it up. However I have no idea if it is safe to load it or not.
