Media Offline issue, after archiving project!?

PostSun Feb 28, 2021 5:56 pm

Hi

In the past when I was done with a project, I'd go to Media Management, click Entire Project, copy and trim files, and save it to a new destination, to cut the project size down to only used media. This used to work

I've just done it, and then loads of media is offline after. But the weirdest thing is it's in the folder, I point Resolve to this folder and it says many files are missing, when they aren't. And in the medial pool, the files appear to be there, they aren't red/offline. But on the timeline they are red and say Offline, and I can't see them. So strange

And the strangest thing is if I extend a couple of the clips by dragging either end on the timeline, then suddenly the thumbnail appears, and then I can play the timeline and see the clip playing. But this is only with some of them!

tearing my hair out a bit trying to work out whats going on. Any ideas?

Do you use proxy media in your project? Did you create the archive (.dra) with the proxy media?

I think I might have an idea what happened but no idea why

So if I take any of th clips and drag them out, I find a part where the media is not offline, the part I used. So its as if when I used Media Management to archive the project, and clicked Trim files, then it trimmed all my files down to the parts used on the timeline, but then weirdly moved them, so they weren't in the right place anymore

Any ideas?
