Resolve 17 Crashes with Red Files and 4K Monitoring

PostSun Feb 28, 2021 11:59 pm

I've been editing Red Code RAW files with full timeline resolution and monitor/output scaled to HD. Having just installed a 4k external monitor over an Extreme 4k, I changed my output and monitor scale to 4k. Resolve crashes, or freezes with a GPU error code 700.

I can edit BMPCC 6K files at 4k monitor and output scaling without a problem.

What resolution Red clips?

How much VRAM on a single 1070Ti you have?

Most probably a VRAM limitation. Set timeline to 4K might help or switch off Red GPU decompression.

Redcode files are 6k, 8Gb ram per videocard x 2. I monitored memory on the videocards, they were close but not maxed out.
Edit: Thank you for your help! Turning GPU decompression off fixed the problem.
