[solved]BUG? Speed-Editors Ripple-Delete-Button clears TimeL

hi all,

there seem to be some bugreports for a malfunction of the RippleDelete-button of the Speed-Editor, but I think this one is a bit different:
when I press the button, all clips are deleted except locked tracks.
the timeline has 6 video-tracks and 7 audio-tracks, some are empty, some are locked. unlocking the tracks doesn't do a difference.

earlier in this project it worked flawlessly and I am not aware of any settings I would have changed.

in between editing on the Cut-Page I edited this timeline on the Edit-Page using the Speed-Editor, too (just mentioning if this should explain something)

using the keyboard shortcut (shift+backspace) in the Cut-Page deletes the clip leaving a gap, pressing the same shortcut in the Edit-Page actually ripple-deletes the clip.

I also experience some connectivity issues with the Speed-Editor. twice the device went off and I couldn't bring it back to live without cable (battery seemed to be fine) and once only the Start/Stop-Spacebar didn't work, all other buttons and the jog-wheel worked well.

up-to-date MacOS on a MBP 16 2019
17.0 Build 39
maybe also worth mentioning: I use the free version of daVinci Resolve with the SpeedEditor

greetings,
Freddy

Make sure you do not have an in and out set for the timeline ( a grey bar above the timeline ) as that will do much like you describe. I had a similar situation when I split a clip but when I pressed ripple delete a whole section of the timeline deleted but not the clip I wanted to delete. Took a while for me to notice the grey bar and delete it. Then everything worked as expected.

thank you!
oh my, I couldn't figure this out. still can't see the function of this, but maybe there is.

now only the known bug stays: in the Cut-Page ripple-delete leaves the gap, in the Edit-Page it doesn't.

In my opinion it would be nice to have both deleting-options anyways, as for some workflows leaving the gap might be a better way to edit.

so if you, awesome Blackmagic-Team, are working on customizable Key-Layouts for the Speed Editor (please do it), this should be included.

also I would like to mark multiple clips by holding down a button and scrolling the jogg-wheel to move or smart-insert them to another place in the timeline at once.
