App Store Version vs. Direct Version & Changing Export Locat

I recently bought Resolve Studio from the App Store. I understand this version is different from the version you can buy from BMD directly. Is there a way to switch to the BMD direct version without buying the software all over again?
I'm noticing I don't have the option to send my exports to specific files, only my computers "Movies" folder. Is this an App Store restriction?
