Is there any way of regenerating .gallery?

PostTue Mar 02, 2021 2:49 pm

I recently installed a new 2TB nvme as I kept running out of space on my original drive. I then daftly thought I'd delete not only the cache files, but also the .gallery files and let davinci regenerate the files to the new paths. Now I'm left with media offline for my current projects even though the media is all linked.

Is there any way to regenerate the .gallery folder at all? If not what would be my next best step to resolve my mistake? And lastly if this is the case can I reintroduce the media but keep all the editing I've done?

Unfortunately only after did I find a post about someone saying that it may not be a good idea to delete this folder...

Thanks for your time!

I've sorted this issue by just copy and pasting the project, the copy has generated the .gallery folder again!

once you delete (or move) the .gallery, you lose the actual image used to compare. the settings are still there (they are stores in teh database IIRC), but for the images, you're out of luck.
