Has anyone had issues with the clone tool on windows in Resolve 17 Beta...

Copies that are taking 10/20 minutes within explorer windows are taking 2 hours with the clone tool.

Was it faster for you in 16? After all, the Clone Tool is making safe copies, the Explorer is doing it fast. Your choice!
If you need something professional, I'd suggest ShotPut Pro.
That said, both values seem quite low (depending on the amount of footage), maybe you need a better reader.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Is your explorer generating and referencing checksums?

Let me check - I'm posting on behalf of the window's user.

I'm finding no issues with the clone tool on v 17.1 on MacOS 10.15.7

I use this. It's free, fast, and offers file verification. (And you don't have to open Resolve to use it. ;) )

Judging from user feedback, it's not very reliable, at least in the MacOS version. So, test carefully.

After all, the Clone tool in Resolve is one of the very few lengthy processes running in the background and not blocking your work.

Hi All

I'm not looking for alternative software - though thanks for the tips. I'm hoping to help Resolve 17's clone tool work appropriately.

@peter - It is generating check sum. Tested with 17.1 on windows as well. 10gb takes 30 minutes with clone tool and 4 minutes with explorer.

I think that's a limiting point-of-view. I think the superior viewpoint is "I'm looking to get this done." ;)

Hello,

The think I'm looking to get done is to figure out why the Clone Tool is not working as advertised in Resolve 17 on Windows.

Like I said thank you for the tips. I'm aware of most of the software out there doing this sort of thing - from r-sync to Shotput Pro, TeraCopy and Silverstack, etc. There are tons of robust solutions for this type of thing.

The Clone Tool is working for me on v16 and v17 Resolve and Resolve Studio for Mac.

Any advice or trouble shooting suggestions on my specific issue, especially from Blackmagic staff, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter - any other ideas?

It is generating and referencing checksums - just very very slowly....
