Resolve 17 closes after "looking for control surface"

PostThu Mar 04, 2021 3:20 am

Hello,

I just upgraded from 16 to 17. When I try to open 17 the window appears for only a second or two and shows "looking for control surface" and then closes. I tried using the control panel to close processes and have rebooted several times, but the issue persists. Any ideas?

I am using windows.

Thank you. My apologies, I missed that when I was going through the troubleshooting steps. See below the info needed. Let me know if anything else is needed.

Diagnostic log archive (from the Help menu, or using the Capture logs tool - see the Logs section)
Computer brand, year and model ASUS Nitron AN517-51, about 2 years old
Detailed OS version Windows 10 Home OS BUILD 19041.804
Detailed DaVinci Resolve version (From the About DaVinci Resolve Menu) v17.0.0.0039

I could not launch so i follwed the instructions for the log and it placed a zip file on my desktop. In this folder in the support folder there are the following txt files. 8 DPDecoder files, a panel file, and a ResolveDebug file. Which one is needed?

Thanks!

By pure luck, my bluetooth headphones died, and when I tried starting the application again, it worked! :D
