Resolve 17.0 Crashing While Creating Render Files

Since upgrading to 17, I have been unable to use the render cache and consequently am unable to watch through a video with grading / nr etc unless I render out a version of it and watch using Quicktime. Every single time I leave it to work its magic, it crashes part-way through. I never had this problem with 16 and unfortunately it makes finishing an important project impossible! I have tried deleting render files and starting all over again, to no avail. Have also updated Catalina etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is the drive listed in project settings fir your render cache listed in your preferences, media storage?
