resolve studio 17 versions confused

I have non-beta resolve studio 17.0 installed, I'm told there is a newer version by the "check for updates" button. I hit the download option on the pop-up window. then attempt to install the fresh download only for it to tell me there is a "new version" already installed... loop forever...

Hmm, I got 17.0 Studio installed and "Check for Updates" tells me I'm current.
What's your system and OS?

What's the file name for the 'new version' that won't install?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
