Render in Place ... Decompose to Original - Delete?

PostMon Mar 08, 2021 9:34 am

The "New Features Guide" states:
The new media created in the Render in Place process will not be deleted from the source folder, nor will it be removed from the Media Pool. It is effectively a new clip.

In my current project I would prefer to have Resolve delete the rendered file and remove the clip form the Media Pool as well.

Perhaps I missed something
Is there an option, or would that be a new feature request?

It's not currently a feature.

I can sorta see the logic behind that, though. Since you are required to specify a folder for the renders, that would mean that you have created a specific location that you know about for the project you're working on. There may be a need for you to keep those renders.

But even if you don't need them, at least you know where they are.

I agree, if I decompose I'm probably editing something and about to Render in Place once the edit is done.
