Continuum performance - Open cl issues...

PostTue Mar 09, 2021 12:58 pm

I just signed up for a Boris FX Suite subscription and both Sapphire and Continuum were installed for Resolve. Sapphire seems to perform well (under Cuda) while Continuum apparently requires the use of Open CL and does not work under Cuda. Switching from Cuda over to Open CL has dramatically affected how quickly clips load in the projects and general performance is not nearly as good. Am I missing something or should I consider removing Continuum from Resolve outright? (system specs - TR 3970x / dual RTX 3090 / 128 GB DDR4 / all SSDs / latest Nvidia studio driver / Resolve Studio 17.1 beta).

CUDA is better.

My choice would be to do without the plug-in that requires OpenCL.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
