Is there a way to input a file; make changes and then if I change the source file the settings I selected including cropping stays the same from the original file. I know as a previous Premiere user it was called sequences.
Thanks

A sequence in Premiere Pro is the same as a timeline in Resolve, but...that's unrelated to the question as I understand it.

You can right click on a clip in a bin and Replace Selected Clip. All the work you've done to that clip in a timeline will remain unchanged.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

For clarification in premiere I can set a video as the back ground then import a second video to layer on top of it but I crop that video so I can see only a certain section of it. When I change the source file it will grab that new file and crop it to the same location as the previous file. Is this possible in davinci?

Try it. Should work fine.
