Resolve 17 Hang when opening - but only when online

IP settings are legit.
Yesterday it asked to renter license code. Which I did successfully.
tried turn off firewall, no no effect
If I pull the ethernet cable, Resolve launches instantly.
Reinstalling doesn't work. Checks license, then hangs looking for control space (which wasn't turned or turned on in settings).
