Avid AAF Error Interlace DR17

PostTue Mar 09, 2021 4:31 pm

Hi!

I have a 1080i50 timeline in the Avid, with mixed footage, partially 1080i50, parts 1080p25.

When I import the AAF from Avid to Resolve with the new option enable interlace processing, all the former 1080p25 clips in the timeline have their clip speed changed, but not with 100% as in the Avid, but with varying speed between 98% and 99.xx%.

Of course after grading and re-importing into the Avid, everything is asynchronous. But the aaf is broken anyways, I got lot PMM_insufficient_media etc. error from the Avid.

If I don´t enable interlace processing, I don´t have these clip speed changes on the timeline, but I seem to have them after rendering, as then the aaf is broken in the same way in the Avid.
Any help?
Thanks!

And if I want to colortrace to a timeline where I didn´t enable "interlaced processing" I can´t do this because color trace states my timeline has a different frame rate (50fps) than the one I want to trace (25fps).

How do i get DR17 to behave like DR16 where my framerate can be 25, but interlaced. Somehow internally DR17 seems to think 50 fields is 50fps.

So DR17 sees every 1080i25 sequence as 50FPS if I enable interlace processing. I don´t know if this is intended or not, at least it is quite a change. And for me it doesn´t seem to play nice with Avid. Which is very problematic for us.
