I have just downloaded DaVinci Resolve 17 so that I can edit my first video. I boot up the editor, place my .mov, place it in the timeline; and boom! I see no video nor audio being played back!

Example of issue:


System Info:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700
GPU: Radeon RX 580
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H WIFI-CF

Please Help if you can. If you need more info, just say it!

(P.S. I this is my first time using resolve so I may be doing something wrong here with the application itself)

Which kind of video? Source, resolution, codec?

Resolution:
1920x1080

Codec:
Hardware (AMD)

In the Resolve Help menu, select "Create Diagnostics Log on Desktop"

That will create a Resolve log .zip file on your desktop.

Then open the Windows System Information app, and select File - Save.

That will create a system info .NFO file where ever you tell it to.

Put both those files on a file sharing site, and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links are open, and don't require access credentials.

If you are a new user, the system may not let you post a URL. If that happens, just put a space near the front, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

I have the same problem. I posted my log too, but still can't fix it.
Try to upgrade your GPU software, though. Maybe it would work for you.

I have seven minutes of fusion that all of a sudden does not play in the edit mode, but displays in the fusion tab. Then all other fusion elements start to disappear in the edit mode. This all started with 17.1! Has anyone else had this problem? Thank goodness that I have made copies of my work and only lost three hours of work...but that is three hours of wasted time. This is very frustrating. Any solutions or recommendations?

Should be! I got it straight out of the System Information after the problem happened.

Issue fixed! All I did was switch back over to Resolve 16. Maybe I will switch back to 17 in about a year or two, once the issue has been resolved on their part.
