The internet backwash on this one is all muddle: you can/can't defeat it with the service remote, you can/can't defeat dimming with a cell app, the relevant service remote is/isn't available at Amazon, there's no way to defeat it and/or you void the warranty when you do, etc. etc. etc.

How do post houses who use this line for at least some display purposes handle it?

You can disable any dimming function using the Service Menu.

When you disable GSR and TCP functions from Service Menu, it will disable any dimming.

However, you have to be careful with these disabled anti-image retention functions.

LG OLED has no ABL until ~150 nits and stable performance in SDR.

For HDR, you will have ABL due to the higher APL of the content.

LG OLEDs are not stable during HDR Mode, but in SDR they are great after a proper 3D LUT profiling.

We don't disable it. The point of the LG and similar displays for us is to judge the image based on how a viewer may see it. No one has a X300 at home. And it only hits around 700 nits which is not high enough. Standard is 1000 nits for HDR.

That wouldn't be the "point" of using an LG OLED, for me. It would be used as an actual grading monitor, not as a consumer reference. And an image being graded may be static for long enough to cause dimming - which a consumer isn't going to see in normal program viewing.
