Media Offline always

I’m using DaVinci Resolve 17 on a Mac M1 Catalina. I am storing my video clips on an external drive that is hardly ever disconnected. Every time I open DaVinci Resolve all of the clips (video and audio) show as offline and I have to relink them. If I then save, close and then restart they are back to being offline even though the external drive they are on is still connected.

Is that drive listed as the top drive in preferences,system, media storage ?

I do have offline media recently after 17 on iMacPro on BigSur with 6K resolution took on Black Magic Pocket Camera 6K.
I had not issue before and not with 4K Media.
Could you tell me how to fix?
