Project window inaccessible behind main panel

On the recent 17.0 release (Windows 10 Pro) with multiple monitors, while on the Edit page, I pressed shift-1 to open the project panel. Unlike usual behavior, it appeared behind the main panel (according to the windows toolbar on the bottom, which showed that the 2nd DR window had appeared), and because it was modal I could not get to it - clicking on the main DR window gave the "beep" of a window that is non-interactive. I could press Escape to close the project window... but when I pressed shift-1 again, it again appeared behind the main window, inaccessibly. I ultimately pressed Escape, quit DR, and restarted to recover normal behavior.

A potential software fix would be to ensure (set again, even though normally not required) that the project database window is at the front of the window stack when it transitions from invisible to visible.

Did you try clicking on the taskbar icon for the Project window? Or pressing Alt+Tab to switch windows?

I've seen some weirdness myself in version 17 and 17.1 for Windows, even using only a single monitor.

Yes, tried both those (taskbar window selection, and alt-tab). Normally the project window works fine - this was quite a quirky situation.
