How to set scaling for source viewer

PostSun Mar 14, 2021 9:09 pm

Hey guys -

I'm working in an anamorphic project with a resolution of 3840 x 1634 and I'm able to get my drone footage shot in UHD (3840 x 2160) to look fine in my timeline. However, when I double click on the file to look at it in the Source Monitor or from the Media menu, it doesn't take up the screen. Which setting affects this?

I have both of my scaling options set to Full Frame with crop.

The Source Viewer will always show you the full clip, sans cropping.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hi Jim,
This is what I see in my source monitor for my UHD file.

Yep, that's normal.

The Source Viewer will take on the aspect of the timeline, but as I said, it always shows the entire clip, no cropping applied.

Hi, I've located the 'problem'. If I generated Proxy Media for this clip, it appears like that in the Source Viewer. If I use Optimized Media, it appears correctly.

I have Proxy Media set to Original size too.
