Da Vinci Resolve 17 (Activation?)

PostSun Mar 14, 2021 10:03 pm

Hello everyone, kind of a newbie question but I will ask.

I bought my BMPCC4K last year, with it came Da Vinci Resolve 16 and an Activation Code + a SD card with Software installation.

I've just bought a new computer, I don't have a SD slot installed yet so I went on https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/ to download Da Vinci Resolve 17.

I've just installed it without a problem, but at no stage they ask my activation code, does this mean I have a "lesser version" not the Studio version? Or it's just simply always been free?

I've always been confused because some place I read Da Vinci Resolve is free and here I have this activation card.

Please enlight me, should I reinstall correctly with my activation code?

You have the Free version, which will see some features disabled.

You should uninstall and start over with the Studio version.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Is there a way to find the files to download the Studio version online and then I can enter my activation code? Just bought a desktop computer my friend helped build, still don't have a slot for SD Cards, and the installation for Resolve came with a SD Card...

Thanks for clarifying,

EDIT: I think I got it thanks!

EDIT 2: DaVinci Resolve 17 is now installed on my new computer, thanks!
