Resolve 17 Studio, Python API missing?

PostMon Mar 15, 2021 9:36 pm

Hi there!

I'm trying to evaluate if we can integrate Davinci Resolve 17 Studio into our pipeline. I'm mostly interested in getting the Python API to work so we can automate some tasks.

In Resolve17, what's the correct way to get Python working? Is there any documentation available? I've found some explanation online for 16, mentioning you'd need to set some environment variables and point to install folders like '../developer' and '../scripting', but I seem to be missing those on my Resolve 17 Studio installation. Is this a separate install now?

If I open the script console and try to select py36, I get an error message that python cannot be found. We're on python 3.6.6, and it's set on the PATH variable. How does Resolve detect Python?

If anyone can point me into the right direction to get this going, that'd be great!

Kind regards,
Max
