Can't see or play footage after upgrading from 16 to 17.1

Hello friends.

I just updated from 16.x Studio to 17.1 Studio.

When I open my projects, I can't see or play video footage on any panel.

Any suggestions?

What's odd is that the first time I ran 17.1, I couldn't see the footage at first, but it showed up after a few seconds and I could play it. Thereafter 17.1 crashed and every since it crashed, I cannot view/play any footage.

Ah, I forgot to mention that I'm using a MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6.

And the cherry on top is that Resolve freezes each time I try to quit the application (I end up having to force quite it each time).

OS: Mojave 10.14.6

Computer: MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)

Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Graphics: Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB / Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

I tried both (a) changing the GPU Processing Mode from Metal to OpenCL and (b) deselecting the box to decode H.264/265 using hardware acceleration, but unfortunately neither one resolved the issue.
