curiosity - video driver update?

i've been happily using an older, recommended, nvidia studio driver (460.89) since its release.

i now see that the studio version of 461.40 is working properly.

i understand gamers wanting the latest drivers, but does resolve actually benefit in any tangible way from newer drivers, eg, faster rendering, frame rates, etc?

sorry for going off-topic with this, but i can't find answers anywhere else...

tia

There are times when a new driver is required, yes.

But if things are working...

There have also been times where the game driver has suffered fewer crashes and faster performance than the studio driver but this is not always the case.

Unless there is a regular crash or a security issue requiring update I would probably wait until you aren't working on a live project.

thanks gents, appreciated.

i think i'll stick with the 'if it ain't broke....'

i read the release notes, but can't see any relevance to resolve.

anyway, stay well ;-)
