Hello everyone, total newbie here!

I'm brand new to Davinci Resolve and am very impressed with it. However, I'm having a problem.

As my first project, I'm trying to make a simple song lyric video. I've imported a WAV file for the music and a few photos into Video 1 with basic transitions. This is all fine. The problems appear when I try and add text to Video 2. Within a minute the preview image and timeline images start flickering or freezing while remaining on one image. This happened with Resolve 16 and I hoped upgrading to 17 would solve it, but the problem remains.

If you can give me any idea why this is happening I'd be very grateful. I really want to get into using Resolve regularly but it's impossible for now. Thanks in advance, and my system specs are below.

Tim :)

Dedicated video memory of 512 MB is far too small.

Thanks Uli. Appreciated.

What is the minimum amount of VRAM necessary?

Depends on your footage and what you'd like to do.
If you work in 'small' HD (1280x720), you can get away with the 1.5 to 1.6 GB VRAM of integrated Intel GPUs for some basic grading. 2 GB allow basic HD, 4 GB will be fine for HD.
UHD needs 6 GB or more.
