17.2 [Bug] Timeline Proxy Mode and Viewer graphical controls

PostWed Mar 17, 2021 9:40 pm

There is a problem when changing the Timeline Proxy Mode in the Edit and Cut Page. The Half Resolution and Quarter Resolution settings change the size of the graphical controls in the viewer for some tools. For example, if you turn on Dynamic Zoom and show the graphical controls from Dynamic Zoom in the viewer, then set the Timeline Proxy Mode to Half or Quarter, the two rectangles will be scaled down by a factor of 2 or 4. The scaling of the controls is inversely proportional to the resolution setting. The same happens with the Resolve FX Transform effect in Control Mode "Interactive-Canvas".

The problem was not fixed in version 17.1.1.

Three example screenshots of how the viewer controls for Dynamic Zoom change depending on the Timeline Proxy Mode setting.

I've seen weird things like this when using Timeline Proxy Mode. The only 'solution' I've found is not to use Timeline Proxy Mode.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
