Access dual ISO ranges in post

Hi BRAWers //

i've been reading this forum and I'm wondering if I'm stuck in one of the two ISO ranges in BRAW in post? I've got a shot where I'd like to pull down the ISO below 1250, but can't. Another shot, I'd like to raise above 1000 ISO but can't.

Am I locked into the ISO range in which the footage was shot, or is there a way in post to access the other ISO range in BRAW?

Many thxx!

You're stuck.

The range is what's selected in hardware when you shoot before data is recorded.

Yeah, you can't change ranges after the fact.

The way I understand it, dual iso works by amplifying the analogue signal before the analogue to digital conversion. Not sure how accurate that actually is, but it would explain why you can’t change later.

Yes, that's how it works.

Not sure exactly how/where the gain stage is though. (i.e. inside the sensor / outside the sensor and/or if it's done during the exposure or during readout)
