Shared node gets killed in Collab mode (17.1)

PostThu Mar 18, 2021 5:17 pm

Hi Guys,

Hope someone has an idea what could cause this.

We have collab setup with the following paramteres: 1 mac pro (for the server / database / media / etc.) + 2 macbook pros as clients. All computers run the same exact davinci studio and server version (we had this issue with 17.0 and now with 17.1) and also the same OS (10.15 Catalina).

We have a project (same issue on other projects too) with shared nodes. You create a shared node, set it up in multiple clips, make an adjustment, save it - it all works like a charm. But when someone else also opens the same project, and pulls up one of the clips that have a shared node, than all shared nodes on that clip, and the same nodes on all the other clips look like as if they got converted back to corrector nodes, changes are not shared anymore, node label is gone.
Adjustments are visible through the collaboration on the other clients, but ofc not shared anymore with other clips. However, after restarting davinci, the shared nodes are 'reverted' back to their shared version, but without any adjustments (from neither before nor after the unintended node conversion)

Luckily we found this issue in the beginning of a project setup, so we can avoid it for the moment, but not using shared nodes creates a lot of extra work for us in the client feedback section, that we would really like to avoid.

Many thanks, and let me know if there's any other info that could help determine the cause.

Best,
M
