DaVinci Resolve 17 crashing and launching problems

Hi!

I've been using DaVinci Resolve 16 for quite a while now and recently I've made the "upgrade" to version 17. I put quotes because in not even a week I've been having a terrible experience with the newer version.

Basically, the new version keeps crashing while saving my projects (it still saves them, it just crashes right afterwards) and also crashes sometimes when copy/pasting text blocks and/or moving items on the timeline. Until today, only the crashes were happening. But now, the software just will not load at all, apparently going to background tasks right after the "Loading fairlight page", even after a delete/reinstall. I am also not able to go back to Version 16, even though I'm pretty sure I did a backup of the database before upgrading to the new version.

Any ideas on how I can fix these issues?

Hi!

I've been using DaVinci for almost a year now (well... used) and recently, since upgrading to DaVinci Version 17, it stopped working correctly.

After the install, it kept on crashing (while saving or sliding video files randomly) and when I tried to revert back to DaVinci Version 16 it said that my database was too new (even though I'm 100% sure that I did create a backup of it before the installation), so I kept on using that version.

However more recently, it stopped booting completely. It would load, then get to "Loading fairlight page", then the window would disappear and it would apparently move to the background. Nothing special happened before that, one day it just refused to work properly.

I've added the config.nfo file and the logs it gave me at the time of the first occurence of this problem.

Any ideas on how I could fix this?
So far I've tried reinstalling a new version (Respectively, version 17.0b6, version 16.2.3, version 16.2.4 and version 17.0) and all gave me the exact same problem, even after totally deleting any Blackmagic product from my computer. If I was to try something, it would be preferable to be able to keep the files on my computer since I had a project where I put 4 months of work in and I really don't want to lose that one.

Sorry, I don’t have an answer but a very similar problem. Interested to see if anyone replies. I currently cannot use Resolve at all which is a real shame.
