Imposible to Export in DNxHR codec

Hello everyone!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when i try exporting a movie in Quicktime format with DNxHR codec, the exported move is always DNxHD encoded. This is happening to me in Davinci 17.1. In Davinci 16 it's working perfectly.

I think the tag is made incorrectly, we’re looking into it.

Don't use QuickTime. Use MXF.

Since someone is looking at the tags for Deliver, do you think it would be possible to also look at the Display Aspect Ratio (DAR) tags which get set wrong sometimes? I wrote about it in another thread, but to make this quick and easy, here is a summary of what you get when your input material is PAL DV 4:3 and after you export it through the Delivery page:

  • Format: AVI, Codec: CineForm = DAR is set to 5:4 (Bad)
  • Format: AVI, Codec: Grass Valley = DAR is set to 5:4 (Bad)
  • Format: MP4, Codec: H.264 NVIDIA or Native = DAR is set to 4:3 and Original DAR to 5:4 (Fantastic)
  • Format: MP4, Codec H.265 NVIDIA = DAR is set to 4:3 and Original DAR to 5:4 (Fantastic)
  • Format: MXF OP1A, Codec DNxHR HQ = DAR is set to 5:4 (Bad)
  • Format: Quicktime, Codec CineForm = DAR is set to 4:3 (Good)
  • Format: Quicktime, Codec DNxHR HQ = DAR is set to 4:3 and Original DAR to 5:4 (Fantastic, but as OP said, it is DNxHD instead  )

Unfortunately a few of the Format / Container combos I want to use set the wrong flag. And it is only the flag. If I change the tag on the final file with an external program, all is good, but it would be nice to have it set correctly from Resolve. Other than hat, I am super impressed with Resolve. You created a fantastic piece of Software here!
