Help installing third party transitions etc..

PostTue Mar 23, 2021 8:06 pm

Hello,

We are reasonably new to DaVinci Resolve after switching from Premiere Pro, so please excuse our ignorance!

We have purchased some third party transitions/hand drawn arrows, that kind of thing, and we are struggling to install them into our project.

In the File Folder (.dra) which we've extracted to the desktop, there is a Da Vinci Resolve Project file which looks to be the main thing and a media file. (we use Windows).

How do we get these into our project so we can drop them into the Timeline please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Open that project.

Are they actually 'transitions' as Resolve understands them, or just clips in a bin?

Hey Jim,

Thank you for your reply.

I have opened the project and in the media pool under 'Master' there are various folders. These open into various sub folders:: Edits, Renders & Others. Under Edits there are further sub folders with the hand drawn arrows, bubbles and lines I am struggling to use.

Please see images to illustrate better:

All i wish to do is to annotate our video with these hand drawn items, which were advertised as 'drag and drop' onto the timeline. However, the author has provided no installation support whatsoever.

OK, those aren't "transitions" in the normal sense. They're just clips which can act as such.

Try moving them to a Power Bin. They should show up in all projects after that.

Ahhh.

You may be stuck with a Copy/Paste between projects then. (And maybe drop a note to the developer that the way he did it is...not ideal.)
