And sorry for it, next time you can, instead of vMix, try OBS to record your program, free and (perhaps) a more modern way to deal with codec.
I doesn't agree with you concerning h264 or h265. It can be a very good editing codec when you go directly from camera (or program) to DVR. With a good graphic card (nVidia preferably) and if you doesnt make too much retiming, it works perfectly well. I use it with my iPhone (Filmic Pro 4K), Panasonic GH3, GH4 and GH5, OBS and TouchDesigner and the result are very good, even coupled with a 4K 6 cameras clip including a BRAW 4k BMPC. In my opinion BM M-Jpeg is a very old codec, coming from media-100 and FCP 4 ages, the only quality is the non temporal compression but for other qualities (colorimetry, deepness etc.), very outdated.
