Ive recorded several clips using vmix in BlackMagic mjped codec.
when playing it on resolve i get this wierd lines like a very poor resolution.
those clips are playing nicely on any player or in premiere, the problem is only on resolve.
please look at attached image and tell me what am i doing wrong.

Interlaced footage interpreted with the wrong field order...
Or interlaced footage scaled without taking into account it is interlaced.

It is not interlaced

They definitely look interlaced. Can you post a sample for testing?

Yeah. Seems like Resolve thinks it is progressive but in reality it is interlaced. Those stripes are definitely from fields.

where the footage is interlaced the lines only showing during playback, in my case the lines appears also during stop/freeze

MediaInfo is telling me that your footage is interlaced, upper field first. That coincides with what I'm seeing.
Problem is: flagging of AVI can be quite flaky. Is this the original source? 60fps seems strange for interlace.

I downloaded your file and I can confirm its entrelaced, forgeted bad memories from rectangular pixels, interlace with top or bottom first etc.
I used Shutter Encoder (free fantastic translation app) to export to h264 with forced deinterlace and the result is good.

yes i know that encoding solves the problem but ive recorded in blackmagic mJPEG to have a so called native codec for resolve. reencoding everything (almost 2T) is not a solution for me.
h264 is not a codec for editing.
premiere pro excepts the file as is with no problems at all.
for the 10th time, the files are not interlaced. all my cameras are progressive, vmix project was progressive. there is no reason for it to be interlaced.

Better use Premiere then.

Try using Resolve in interface mode or use the deinterlace processing

Peter, DR doesn't offer the option to de-interlace for that clip:

Thanks for the sample.
I can confirm that it is indeed progressive (loaded into VirtualDub).
But metadata says it is interlaced.
So there seems to be a mismatched configuration somewhere.

And sorry for it, next time you can, instead of vMix, try OBS to record your program, free and (perhaps) a more modern way to deal with codec.
I doesn't agree with you concerning h264 or h265. It can be a very good editing codec when you go directly from camera (or program) to DVR. With a good graphic card (nVidia preferably) and if you doesnt make too much retiming, it works perfectly well. I use it with my iPhone (Filmic Pro 4K), Panasonic GH3, GH4 and GH5, OBS and TouchDesigner and the result are very good, even coupled with a 4K 6 cameras clip including a BRAW 4k BMPC. When you use it with 420 10bit Iframe its like velvet…
In my opinion BM M-Jpeg is a very old codec, coming from media-100 and FCP 4 ages, the only quality is the non temporal compression but for other qualities (colorimetry, deepness etc.), very outdated.

But finaly, ther is a bug in DVR not regognising the clip as interlaced, what's strange is Fusion standalone recognise it and produce a deinterlaced image…

No - DVR recognizes it as interlaced because of the metadata and then handles it like interlaced. But you can't force the clip to be seen as progressive.
One would have to re-write the scantype metadata tag but I haven't found a tool capable of this.
