DaVinci Resolve 17: Flat/nonworking Histogram

Hello,

I have a clip which unfortunatelly is not lit well so I have to correct with histogram.

I did cut, edit the timeline. Then I went to Color-Page. Unfortunatelly the histogram is flat with a very high spike. I don't think its correct, see attachment. The clip contains a sign language interpreter who wears black clothes and sit in front of white wall which is lit with warm light.

There is a three dotted button, where I set histogram to "input" since I want fix the clip in the timeline.

Did I anything wrong, or is that a bug?

I'm using Studio 17 Version (Version 17.1 Build 24).

Best regards
Floh

That could very well be an accurate Histogram. My own disk shots show similar.

Florian, I only see that sort of histogram if I am on a black section of video. Anything showing in the scopes?
Try moving the playhead to see if it updates.

Hi everybody,

thank you for your reply. I doublechecked everything and thought: 'D'uh!'

The histogram displayed correctly and I have this "issue" because I made some change in transform to the clip. I reduced the zoom to 40% and cropped a little. Because of that the Clip has a lot of black area, thus there are spike on the left side.

So I'm not able to have a histogtram based of the "part of the clip" without the black area around it?

Best regards
