The learning curve for DaVinci Resolve

I am comfortable with both Camtasia and Adobe premiere pro cs4. Yes, I know cs4 is pretty outdated and in fact Adobe doesn’t even support it anymore, but it still is a decent system.
I am considering DaVinci Resolve and I want to be able to create innovative and professional videos.
What in general would it take in time to be somewhat proficient with a general knowledge of using Resolve instead of premiere pro? I am self taught on premiere pro and it took me about 3 months to be comfortable using it.
Would it be about the same amount of time with resolve and is there any video training along with the manual for learning the different aspects of this software?
From what I have looked at, this software looks pretty intense. I have purchased a new windows 10 machine and when I receive it, I plan to install Resolve (The free version first).
The new computer will be a little high end because I wanted to get something that won’t be outdated tomorrow. It has an i9 10850 cpu 10th generation and an nvidia 3070 graphics card 8 gb gpu. The drive is 1 Tb ssd.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Moved to Resolve forum.
Welcome to DaVinci Resolve. At the top of this forum are some links to training and the BMD tutorials with downloadable books, from the web site. are a good free way to start. And while its large we can highly recommend working your way through the manual.

Also coming from Premiere and FCP7, I found DR much easier to learn than FCP-X.
Most basic concepts are very similar, but please don’t approach it with preconceived notions how something should work. The free training materials by BM are excellent to eat you going. The 3K+ manual seems intimidating, but I’d see it rather like an encyclopedia than a schoolbook. But then, it’s lengthy because it is incorporating the practical use of features instead of just listing them.
Your future machine should fly with HD and be reasonable for UHD, but you may encounter some limits with demanding effects in 4K.

don't be fooled into thinking that your skill is tied to someone's software.
DaVinci Resolve is great. I would recommend keeping some familiarity with another platform too.
A quick scan of the forum will likely put you off but you have to be aware that the majority of issues relate to new users with insufficient investment in hardware and insufficient experience in post production. At the other end are professionals who are putting out feature films, documentaries ...everything.
Pinch your nose and jump in!

If you work editing as a full 9-5 job I'd say just a few days to a week to be up to the same speed you are in Premiere, depending on how intuitive you are and by using some tutorials.
After that you'll probably get a bit faster than Premiere, mainly because you spend less time troubleshooting.
Resolve has it's fair share of bugs don't get me wrong, but unlike Premiere, it's bugs aren't project crashing and time consuming, they are more of a small nuisance that can be overlooked.
It's well worth the switch!

There is Blackmagics own trainign material for free :
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/produc ... e/trainingPersonally I learnt a massive amount from this series :
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... jIzRcJp3b0 even though it is aimed at resolve 12, there is still an enormous amount of useful info in bite sized chunks for you to learn a lot and then there are too many excellent indie YouTube tutorials for Resolve 16 & 17 for specific tasks you might want to achieve
