Impossible to use Resolve as a real DAW

PostFri Mar 26, 2021 3:02 pm

Hi, I use the last Studio release and the Fairlight Accelerator.

I have set virtual instruments of different manufacturers in some mixer channels of the Fairlight page.

All seems to work as expected but when you close the project and reopen it Resolve starts to random loose some midi in channel settings previously set for each virtual instrument.

If you keep going to quit and reopen two to three times, Resolve keeps loosing the midi input settings until all of the settings are lost at all, no matter of which manufacturer the Virtual Instruments are.

I tried this for a long time at now and with different releases of Resolve but nothing has changed at now.

I also tested with only 10 instances, instead of well over 100 needed for my cinematic virtual orchestra projects, but there was no change.

For this reason it's absolutely impossible using Resolve as a DAW

I got the same problem with the free Resolve version and without accelerator, too.

Does anyone get the same problem? I would send MIDI to virtual instruments opened in Resolve from a sequencer running on an other server. I would connect the external sequencer using Vienna Ensemble Pro.

This w'll let us using the power of the accelerator to open countless virtual instruments during the music composing stage and then recording each one of them directly in Resolve to get the audio tracks ready for mixing and mastering.

Unfortunately, if Resolve doesn't remember the MIDI in settings it is impossible using Resolve as a DAW. I never found this kind of problem occurring on other DAWs as Nuendo, Reaper or Cubase
