Instant crash trying to access Power Grades

PostSat Mar 27, 2021 7:00 pm

If I try to access the power grades in the Color page, Resolve crashes instantly. I don't even get the box that asks me to send a report back to Blackmagic. I've tried Resolve v17.1, 17.1.0b1, and 17.0b7. I'm guessing it's an issue with Big Sur (11.2.3) more than an issue with any particular version of Resolve.

Is there any fix or workaround for this? I need to access my Power Grades!

Here is a video showing the issue:

Working without issue in Studio 17.1.1 for Windows.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hmmm. I'm gonna try to clear Resolve from my computer and see if that fixes my problem. When Resolve crashes, Mac OS brings up the dialogue to send a crash report to Apple. It shows an error that looks like it's tied to someone's computer. I wonder if "jenkins" is an employee at Blackmagic:

I can access power grades in a different database, but it doesn't have my existing power grades. They must be tied to a database. I'm guessing there's an issue with my database. I've been experiencing data corruption with my iMac recently and that's probably the source of my problems.

Check your file structure with a tool like Disk Warrior then.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

I thought they were. But that would mean you shouldn't be able to see Power Grades from other databases so...maybe not.
