Question regarding upgrade to Studio

Hi

I have tried to read up on the differences between the Davinci Resolve (DR) and Davinci Resolve Studio (DRS).
What I am mostly looking for is faster rendering, but I can't figure out, if DRS can take advantage of my system.

When I render a small movie it looks like this:
P7N9l34dyv.png
P7N9l34dyv.png (40.89 KiB) Viewed 424 times

CPU at 100% and GPU at 7-9%

I have read that both DR and DRS uses the GPU to render (though to me it certainly looks like it's mostly using my CPU), so will I see any further improvement if upgrading to DRS?

Thanks in advance,
Jan

With 100% cpu, it’s probably dealing with a heavily compressed codec, which may we’ll be faster and better quality with the Studio version and depending on your GPU and specific codecs.

Thanks for the reply Peter

I am typically using MP3 for audio and MP4 for video input and render to H264/ACC 1080p 30fps (max) for Youtube uploads.

Sometimes I have access to WAV/MOV versions instead of MP3/MP4 - so that would be a better choice for the CPU, but not necessarily for the overall render time (and disk usage I presume)?

I really appreciate any help on this matter.

Best regards,
Jan

The studio codec library for h.264 is much better with the studio version. U can post sample clips and someone can play to compare for u.

Again, thank you very much for the reply.

I'll try to find a local reseller and buy a license :)

Best regards,
Jan
