H.264 - Transcode or upgrade to Resolve 17
Posted: Sun Mar 28, 2021 5:09 pmI'm having a H.264 Video problem. Should I Transcode or upgrade to Resolve 17 “Studio” version?
Project shot on Sony A7S3
- XAVC S 1080 HD - H.264 10bit 4:2:2 - 24p - Slog3
- Editing with Resolve 17 “Free" version
- New MacBook Air M1 with 16GB RAM
Only get audio (no Video) while importing XAVC S H.264 1080p HD 10bit 4:2:2
I had NO issues importing and editing XAVC HS H.265 4K 10bit 4:2:2
Do I need to transcode the footage or upgrade to “Studio” version?
Will “Studio” version give me better performance with multiple streams/video tracks on the time-line?
Can anyone recommend a good, simple transcoder for Mac?
What should I transcode 1080p HD 10bit 4:2:2 H.264 to?
ProRes 4:2:2 Proxy, HD, or what flavor?
If I transcode, will I lose any quality or have any issues with Slog3 LUTs/Transforms?
Any assistance is appreciated.
