17.1 audio out of sync after paste attributes

PostMon Mar 29, 2021 3:16 pm

If I import a video from bin into timeline and CMD-C of a video clip and paste attributes (only video setting) to the new clip, audio sync goes out.

Is this just me?

thanks!

You're the first I've seen report this.

My first thought is the clip needs to be Cached.

You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Strange.

It's automatically cached after put into timeline, right? Even after I wait a while, sync doesn't come back. Whole timeline audio sync is out of whack. If I close DR and restart the project, sync is perfect. :?

Actually, without pasting attributes, just importing a clip into the timeline causes the sync to go out. Could it be that I have 6 audio plugins (noise red, vocal ch, de-esser, noise red, distortion, limiter) on the audio track that clip's audio is being imported?

If there's a blue line over the clip, it's been Cached.

What camera recorded the clip?

A7S3 @ 48khz. I am importing 44.1khz audio files into the timeline, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? I've read that DR automatically matches different sample rates to the project setting?

Thanks for helping!

OK.

Try disabling the audio effects. Still go out of sync?

Disabling audio effects doesn't solve it, but strangely, turning off Insert seems to work. Let me report back after working a bit more with it.

thx!

EDIT: Okay, disabling Insert did fix it. I don't even know why it was on in the first place. Thanks for the help! :)

EDIT2: Okay, disabling Insert disables the whole insert plugins. Manual says:

Insert: Enables the routing of effects from Blackmagic audio interface hardware to outboard effect boxes and back again.

But it disables the internal software inserts?? Is this normal behavior?
