How to get 4k video to render as original quality

PostWed Mar 31, 2021 2:33 pm

Hello, I am a complete newb to this and editing 4k video. I have started making videos using my Mavic Air 2 drone and the 4k quality right off the drone is amazing. When I upload it directly to YT it looks fantastic. Well, I used Resolve to edit a video and used 4K settings recommended on a YT video and it doesn't look as smooth or good. I've never understood why there isn't some kind of passthrough or some other way that you don't have to render the video. Why isn't it as good as the original? I use another program to stitch mp4 files together that I don't need to edit and it works great. I'm sure there is an easy answer to this. This video was edited and rendered in resolve
This one I uploaded the original file to YT and edited it there
. They are both tests and I'm still learning to fly this drone.
Thank you,
Manof

It looks like it's related to some sort of frame-rate conversion. Your first movie (the bike) have 24fps, so a bit of stutter is to be expected, especially on 30x refresh rate devices. The second one is 30fps, and stutters as well. What's the frame-rate you have set during recording?

Hi, thanks for responding. I was wondering about that. The video recorded from the drone is 30fps. So, what you're saying is Resolve is converting the frame rate to 24 fps causing the stutter?
Thanks you!
